Mexican Craft

February 11, 2011

I was recently fortunate enough to be invited as a guest on a cruise starting in San Diego, California, going through the Panama Canal and ending up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We also made many brief stops along the way. I was very excited by all the craft in Mexico, especially the pottery and embroidery. The bowls are Hernandez Pottery, all hand painted and the embroidery was done by children living in the mountains. Although I had many ethical and moral dilemmas throughout the trip, I purchased all of these pieces at the first stop we made, in Cabos San Lucas, anyway.

  1. It is so funny that the colors in the items you brought back match the color theme you chose for your blog! The second bowl down is my favorite! The scalloped rim is extra beautiful. I’d love to chat about your adventure and the Australian one yet to come soon!
